Betty Lou (Estes) Clark

Mrs. Betty Lou Estes Clark, 82, of Franklin, NC passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025. She was born April 4, 1942, in Jackson Co, NC to the late Alonzo Estes and Mollie Buchanan Estes.

Mrs. Betty was a faithful member of Snow Hill United Methodist Church where she served as a greeter. She loved cooking, gardening, eating out in restaurants, wearing her blue jeans, family vacations to the beach, going on picnics in the smokey's with her family, loafering with her kids and sisters, and watching the Andy Griffith Show.

She worked for twenty years in the textile industry and twenty years at Walmart before she retired.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Kenneth Clark; a daughter, Sherry Bateman; grandchildren, Jessica Keyworth (Matthew), Andrea Staebell (Justin), and Phillip Bateman (Danielle); three great-grandchildren, Kenna Keyworth, Ada Staebell, and Micah Staebell; and three sisters, Pat Nations, Opal Mills, and Kay Estes.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Betty was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Connie Lee Clark; eight siblings, Charles Estes, Bill Estes, Gene Estes, Ronnie Estes, Grover Estes, Christella Hammond, Ollie Cabe, and Imma Jean Estes.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Snow Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. Julia Gibson and Rev. Steve Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers will be Phillip Bateman, Matthew Keyworth, Justin Staebell, Darryl Bateman, Wayne Lynch, and Johnny Nations.

In lieu of flowers the family ask donations be made to the Snow Hill United Methodist Church.
