Franklin, NC - Betty Blain McClure Nicholson Waddell, age 88, Fort Myers, FL. formerly of Franklin, NC and Toccoa Ga. went to be with the Lord on October 1st., 2014. She was a native of Macon County, the daughter of the late John William "Phil" Blaine and Bessie Corpening Blaine. She was married to Thomas James McClure, Herby Dillard Nicholson Jr., and Woodrow Waddell all of which preceded her in death. Additionally, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Eldona McClure; a son Keith McClure, and four sisters; Mary Carpenter, Annie Willamson, Juanita Chappell, Sybil Green; and one brother Paul Blain all of Franklin.

She is survived by her daughter, Gennifer Woodworth (None) of Akron, OH.; son Kahn McClure (None) of Fort Myers Fl.; Three grandchildren, Sonia (None) Akron Oh, Sherry (None) Ft. Myers Fl, Mark (Alma) Ft. Myers Fl; Seven great-grandchildren, Amber Rae, Elena Ruth, and Colton all of Akron Oh.; and; Amanda, Victoria, Darrian and Ivory, all of Ft. Caring to the center of her being, Betty demonstrated love for family and friends in ways that were creative, funny, and caring. As beautiful outside as she was within, Betty's legacy is one filled with loving-kindness as she left traces of herself in the hearts of those she came in contact with. Everyone who encountered her was struck by her infectious laughter, wit, and clever observations. Never at a loss for words and never shy, she possessed a refreshing honesty which will be sorely missed. Betty's passing has left an empty space in our hearts. She'd encourage each of us to fill that place with love and laughter.

Graveside services will be held at Gillespie Chapel Cemetery Saturday, October 11th at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Burt Crawford officiating.
