Betty Jean (Tallent) Cloninger

Betty Jean Tallent Cloninger was she given the most precious Christmas gift when was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on December 24, 2015.

Betty was born January 7, 1932 to the late Marion Edward Tallent and Tally Roper Tallent Stewart in Macon County, NC.

She is preceded in death by her husband Al Cloninger in 1992, son Larry Barnes, brother Clifford Tallent, sisters Nobia Tallent and Sophia Messemer.

Left here to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Rene Barnes Dzubay of Belmont, NC,  Karen Barnes Thomas of Gastonia, NC, brother Tracy Tallent and wife Carolyn of Gastonia, NC, sister Thelma Cubler of Florida, 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

A special thank you to the staff at Alexandria Place, Gastonia, NC, Gaston Manor, Gastonia, NC and Dr. David Reinhardt, Belmont, NC, for many years of excellent care.

A funeral service will be held 12:00 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2015 at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Reeves officiating. Burial will follow in the Iolta Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 11:00-12:00 prior to the service. Flowers and condolences may be sent to Bryant Grant Funeral Home, 105 W.
