Betty Surmiak Wise Bowling

Franklin, NC - Betty Surmiak Wise Bowling, age 77, of Franklin, NC passed away Sunday, January 1, 2012. Born in Fayette County, WV, she was the daughter of George C. Bowling and Edith Bickford Nelson. She was married to Paul Lewis Surmiak for 40 years and she was a manager at Space Maker Storage. She was a member of the Jehovah Witness Church.

In addition to her husband, Betty is survived by two daughters, Sharon Coffman of Sanford, FL and Melissa Chance of Deltona, FL; four sons, Teddie Skaggs of Lake City, FL, Robert Skaggs of Brooksville, FL, James Skaggs of Deltona, FL and Dwain Surmiak of North Carolina; one sister, Brenda Bowling of Ohio, and one brother, Larry Bowling of Texas. She is preceded in death by one brother, Bob Bowling.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Franklin VFW Post 7331, c/o Neal Riendeau, 1155 N. Skeenah Rd., Franklin, NC 28734.
