Billy Hugh Baugus

Billy Hugh Baugus, 75, of Franklin, NC, passed away January 3, 2025. Mr. Baugus was born May 21, 1949, in Senath, Missouri to the late Sammy Lee Baugus and Wilma Shultz Baugus, he was one of twelve children.

Billy enjoyed watching nascar racing. In the past, he especially loved hunting and fishing at his family’s land in Butler, Georgia. Later in life, he enjoyed riding the tractor, plowing the fields and planting crops for the deer. At his present home in NC he still fed the deer and enjoyed them visiting every evening. He had a zest for food. Right after breakfast (or during) he would always ask “what are we having for dinner”? He enjoyed eating, cooking, grilling and having a garden. Every summer he enjoyed cooking the fresh vegetables he grew in his garden. He was famous for his chicken wings and smoked meats. Billy never met a stranger he could’t talk to. He was a good husband, father and especially a wonderful grandfather. Payton was his best friend and constant companion.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Baugus; daughters, Jennifer Baugus and Angela Green; granddaughter, Payton Baugus; brothers and sisters, Joann Jones, Connie Jones, Gary Baugus and S.L. Baugus.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Ronnie Baugus, Jerry Baugus, Jimmy Baugus, Patricia Chailland, Melba Baugus and twin sisters, Karen and Sharon.
