Billy Joe Hurst

Billy Joe Hurst, 76, of Franklin, NC, passed away Monday, January 7, 2019.  He was born in Macon County, the son of the late Henry and Mary Flanigan Hurst.  Mr. Hurst was a mechanic for Macon County Government and was a member of Black Mountain Baptist Church.  He loved cars and old tractors.

Survivors include his daughter, Shannon Guy (Rodney) of Franklin, grandchildren, Roland Guy, Chloe Guy and Jackson Guy; brothers, Horace Hurst and Dennis Hurst both of Franklin, NC.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Herb Hurst and a sister, Betty Moore.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Stillwell officiating.  A private burial will be held.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday evening at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home.
