Blanche Elizabeth Cope

Franklin, NC - Blanche Elizabeth Cope, age 101, of Gastonia, formerly of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at her son's residence. She was born in Macon County, the daughter of the late Harley and Minnie Tallent Crawford. She was married to Blaine Cope who passed away in 2000. She was a homemaker and was a long time member of Oakdale Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by three daughters, Verlie Spargo of Gastonia, Pauline Postlewait and husband Joe of Florence, SC and JoAnne Harrison of Gastonia; two sons, Huel Cope and wife Helen of Gastonia and Vernon Cope and wife Edith of Mt. Holly; one brother, Clarence Crawford of Georgia; 22 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sons, Cliff and Harold Cope; three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 30, at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Guy Duvall and Rev. Johnny Raby officiating. Burial will be in Roper Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Saturday, from 2:00 - 3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Oakdale Baptist Church, 5650 Upper Burningtown Rd., Franklin, NC 28734.
