Bobby Downs

Franklin, NC - Bobby Ray Downs, age 71, of Shady Brook Lane, Franklin, NC died Sunday, November 28, 2010 at his residence. A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Ray and Oma Wooten Downs. He was married to Nancy Hunnicutt Downs for fifty-three years. He was a carpenter and musical instrument maker. Bobby was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved music. He attended Pentecostal Assembly of God Church.

In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter, Teresa Lovell and husband Wendell of Franklin, NC; one son, Ronnie Downs and wife Jane of Franklin, NC; one sister, Ruth Alexander of Waller, TX and four brothers, Edward Downs, Lowell Downs, Dennis Downs and Johnny Downs all of Franklin, NC. Six grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Alton Dendy officiating. Burial will be in Well Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Downs, Wendell Lovell, Luke Downs, Zack Downs, Casey Downs and Seth Guest.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 30, 2010 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home.
