Bonnie Lou (Guffey) Harkins

Bonnie Lou Harkins, age 66, of Franklin, NC, passed away Monday, January 2, 2017.  She was born in Macon County, the daughter of the late Charlie and Annie Mae Hurst Guffey.  Mrs. Harkins had worked at Rabun Mills, Grandview Nursing Home and Macon County School System.  She was a member of Tellico Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Doran Elliott.

She is survived by her former husband, John Harkins; a daughter, Pam Elliott of Franklin, NC; a son, Les Elliott and his wife Regina of Franklin, NC; grandchildren, Violet Elliott, Shannon Elliott, Kelsie Elliott, Shandra Elliott, Scott Elliott and Gracie Elliott; eight great-grandchildren;  a brother, T. J. Guffey, and four sisters, Carol Gibson,  Mabel Bates, Florence Robbins and Ruth Ann Bockholt.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Annie Sue Guffey.

A memorial service will be held at Tellico Baptist Church 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2017. The family will receive friends following the service.
