Bonnie Beryl Kirkland

Franklin, NC - Bonnie Beryl Kirkland, age 98, of Franklin, NC passed from this earthly plane Friday, July 25, 2014 at a local nursing home. Heaven has gained an amazing angel. She was born in Swain County, the daughter of the late Edwin Lequire and Fannie Owenby Lequire. She was married to Thaniel "Dan" Norman Kirkland. She was a member of Mt. Hope Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grand mother, great-grand mother and great-great-grand mother. She loved gardening, flowers, birds and cooking for her family. She made beautiful quilts for her family..

She is survived by one daughter Brenda Winkle and husband Bill of Otto, NC; four sons Don Kirkland and Wife Elizabeth of Franklin, NC, Ted Kirkland and wife Vivian of Franklin, NC, Ray Kirkland and wife Ruby of Franklin, NC and Ron Kirkland and wife Judy of Franklin, NC, 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, July 28 in the Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Fouts and Rev. Steve Reeves officiating. Burial will be in the Luada Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Kirkland, Bradley Kirkland, Mark Kirkland, Mitchell Kirkland, Chad Kirkland, David Kirkland and Keith Crosby.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 27 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Bryant Grant Funeral Home.
