Brenda Scott Monteith

Franklin, NC - Brenda Scott Monteith, 66, of Franklin passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014 in an Asheville hospital. Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late R. L. and Lois Hyatt Scott. She was married to James Horace Monteith, who preceded her in death on September 20, 2004.

Mrs. Monteith was employed by CR Industries for 25 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who liked horses and liked to draw; she was a member of Watauga Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Brandy Cobb of Franklin; a sister, Rhonda Sue Monteith and husband Keith of Sylva, and one grandchild, Brannon Parrish. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Jamie Bradford Monteith.

Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Carson Gibson officiating. Burial will be in Watauga Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Austin McConnell, Jody Spradlin, Melvin Spradlin, David Parrish, Johnny Monteith and Jesse Stiwinter.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
