Candus E. Angel

Franklin, NC - Candus E. Angel, 108, of Franklin, NC passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013 in a local hospital. Born in Macon County, January 25, 1905, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Dolly Jennings Gibson. She was married to Lex B. Angel, Sr. who died in 1965.

Mrs. Angel was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and great-great-great-grandmother who liked to crochet and doing word puzzles; she was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by three daughters, Mildred Tyler and Grace Poindexter both of Franklin and Maude Breedlove of Bryson City; one son, Bob Angel of Franklin; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren and three great-great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sons, Lex Angel, Jr. and J. D. Angel; two sisters; seven brothers and one great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held Thursday December 26 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Owens and Rev. Cale Stancil officiating. Burial will be in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Angel, Zachary Holt, Eli Childers, Nathan Raby, Kyle Poindexter and Josh Owens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 - 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
