Carol Tyre-Henry

With faith in her heart, Carol Tyre-Henry peacefully entered into eternal rest on January 10, 2025. A devoted servant of God, she dedicated her life to faith, family, and community. Her unwavering devotion was evident in all she did, whether through her work with the Carmelite order, her service in the Altar Society, or her spirited presence in the church choir—where her enthusiasm often outshined her vocal precision.

Among life’s many blessings, Carol found her greatest peace in the mountains of North Carolina. There, she felt closest to God, walking the rolling hills and breathing in the crisp mountain air. It is only fitting that she will be laid to rest in the place that brought her the most joy, returning home to the land she loved.

She is welcomed into Heaven by her parents, her beloved husband Alfred Richard, and her dear son Troy Tyre. She is survived by her brother Clyde (Marsha); her daughter Cheri; her sons Richard (Angela) and Cory (Alicia); her grandchildren Joey, Ashley, Christopher, Brooke, Tara, Amanda, Carrie, Hali, Caleb, Oliver, Josephine, and Adalynne; and several great-grandchildren. Her legacy of faith and devotion will live on in each of them.

A Memorial Mass in Carol’s honor will be held on March 30th at 8:30 AM at St. Mark the Evangelistic Mission, located at Patriot Oaks Academy, 475 Longleaf Pine Pkwy, St. Johns, FL 32259.

A Funeral Mass will be held on May 10th 1pm at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Sapphire, North Carolina, where she will be laid to rest in the mountains she cherished.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to Mission Nombre De Dios of St. Augustine.

Though we grieve her passing, we take comfort in knowing she is at peace—walking the heavenly trails with her beloved Dalmatian, Decimal, and watching over us all.
