Carroll Richard Arnold, 73, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the home of his daughter in Carnesville, GA.
He was born on October 11, 1943 in Macon County, NC to the late Claude and Fannie Arnold.
Carroll served in the United States Army, worked for Hole in the Wall Bar in Naples, FL for 15 years. Later moving back to Franklin, NC where he retired after 25 years in the construction business. He was a wonderful father and grandfather and a friend to many. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and spending time with friends and family. He is survived by one daughter Heather Patricia Rhoades and husband, Shawn Rhoades of Carnesville, GA; Three grandchildren, Paige Cole of Canon, GA., Mason and Carson Rhoades of Carnesville, Ga; and two-great grandchildren, Grasyn and Gunner Cole of Canon, Ga. He is also survived by
one sister, Barbara Pendergrass of Clarkesville, GA; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Arnold of Franklin, NC; and two nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Arnold and one sister, Annie Mae Arnold.
A funeral service will be held 4:00 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2017 in the chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Hawkins officiating. Burial with follow in the Sugarfork Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St Jude’s Children Hospital.
