Charles Lee Cabe

Charles Lee Cabe, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 24, 2015. Mr. Cabe was born July 2, 1930 in Macon County to the late Claude W. Cabe and Grace Pauline Cabe. Charles was married for 53 years to Josephine Roper Cabe who survives. He worked 38 years in education as a teacher and principal; served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1955 as an airman 1st class in the Korean Conflict; was a member of the American Legion Franklin Post 108; was a member of the Macon County Retired Teachers Association; but most of all, a very active member of Cowee Baptist Church, serving in all areas of the church.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Joseph Kenny Cabe (Carolina) of Boiling Springs, SC; a granddaughter, Taylor Cabe of Boiling Springs, SC; a sister, Mildred Jeanette Holland of Otto, NC; two brothers, Claude Maxwell Cabe (Lucille) of Spruce Pine, NC and Robert Martin Cabe, Sr. (Elizabeth) of Franklin, NC.  Charles was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Pauline Cabe.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 P.M. Monday, October 26, 2015 at Cowee Baptist Church with the Rev. David Powell, Rev. Jason Smith, Rev. Ronnie Branson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 1:00-3:00 P.M. prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers will be Bill Fouts, Benny Reynolds, Bruce Harwood, Mike Cochran, Bill Mc Gaha, Steve Green, Furman Shook, Eddie Lee, Sr. and David Morgan; Honorary pallbearers will be the Omega Sunday School Class.
