Charles Edward Estes

Charles Edward Estes, 78, of Sylva, passed away Sunday evening June 26, 2016. A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County he was the son of the late Alonzo and Mollie (Buchanan) Estes. Charles retired from Western Carolina University and enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his 4 brothers; Bill, Eugene, Ronnie and Grover, a half-brother James, 2 sisters; Christella and Imajean as well as half-sisters; Elizabeth, Maggie Sue, Helen, Virginia and Edna.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years Annie Dillard Estes

2 Daughters- Gloria (Tom) Butler of Raleigh, NC; Debra Estes of the home

5 Sisters- Ollie Mae Cabe, Betty Lou Clark, Patsy Nations, Kay Estes and Opal Mills

Several nieces and nephews also survive

A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday June 30 at Zion Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Stillwell officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the Service at the Church.
