Charles "Gene" Eugene Mitchell, Jr.

Mr. Charles Eugene “Gene” Mitchell, Jr. 67, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 22, 2019.

Gene was born in Greene County, Tennessee November 30, 1951 to the late Charles Eugene Mitchell, Sr. and Mrs. Anna Lee Baughard Mitchell who survives.

Gene worked as an engineer in the manufacturing business for many years; He served his country in the U.S. Army; was a member of East Franklin Baptist Church where he was a deacon and church treasure.

Gene loved and adored his two dogs, Bayle and Bridgett.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Sandra Mashburn Mitchell of the home; his mother, Anna Mitchell of Franklin; and other family and friends.

Mr. Gene was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Jackie B. Mitchell; and a special aunt, Cora Miller.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m.  Sunday, May 26, 2019 in the chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Jenkins, Rev. Scott Matthews, and Rev. Gary McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday evening May 25, 2019 at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Marvin Mashburn, Brad Bishop, Ray Bryson, Toddy Russell, Mark Doolittle, and Richard Salmonson; Honorary Pallbearers will be Darrell Bell, Joe Church, and Tom Frakes.
