Charles Lester Henderson, Sr.

Charles Lester Henderson, Sr. 77, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017.

Mr. Henderson was born September 2, 1939 in Macon County to the late Lester Calhoun and Adeline Elizabeth Teague Henderson. He was married to the late Janice Henderson who preceded him in death.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Max Henderson.   Charles worked and later owned the S&L Five and Ten Cent Store in Franklin for many years. He loved unique cars and wood working by building clocks, furniture, and houses. He was a true wood craftsman. He was also of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include his daughters, Tammy Henderson Miller (Jonathon) of Lakemont, GA. and Rhonda Henderson McCarthy of Mountain City, Ga; three sons, Charles L Henderson, II (Kimberly), Les Henderson (Carol), and Michael Henderson (April) all of Dillard, Ga; eleven grandchildren, one great-grandchild; two sisters,  Jo Ann Henderson and Linda Morrow both of Franklin, NC; a brother, Conway Henderson of Spartanburg, S.C.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in the Chapel of Bryant – Grant Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home & Crematory.
