Christine Cunningham

Ms. Ruby Christine Cunningham, 88, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2024. Christine was born November 28, 1935, in Macon Co. NC. to the late Samuel Philip Cunningham and Sadie Woods Cunningham.

Christine was a medical technician and a nurse. She worked at Walter Reed Hospital, Harris Regional Hospital, and Angel Medical Center. She was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the country of Loas as a medical technician.

Christine was a member of Windy Gap Baptist Church.

Christine loved to work on word search puzzles, be outside working in her garden, and sitting on her porch watching cars pass by.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Christine is preceded in death by her siblings, Lucille Tallent, Maxine Hodgin, Paulette McCoy McCall, Hershel Lee Cunningham, Lonnie Samuel Cunningham, and Judson Carlton McCoy.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Windy Gap Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Bishop officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
