Clara Belle Setser

Clara Belle Gregory Setser, 97, of Franklin passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016. A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Pink and Martha B. Holland Gregory. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Edwin Setser, who died in 1988. Mrs. Setser was a homemaker and it was well known that you never went to her house without having a great meal. She loved to raise a garden and she enjoyed making beautiful quilts. She is survived by special sister in law, Linda Corn Gregory; one daughter, Doris Chambers (Bruce) of Bethel, NC; two sons, Dennis Setser (Mary) of Canton; David Setser (in memory of wife Sheila Moffitt) of Scaly Mtn.; three granddaughters, Kathy Lawrence (Steven), Amanda Chambers and Angela Chambers; one grandson, Scotty Setser (Kari), two great granddaughters, Sara Lawrence and Izzy Setser and one great grandson, Hayden Setser. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four brothers, Ray, Roy, John, and Bob Gregory and three sisters, Estelle Kiser, Tressie Hoilman and Betty Keener. A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 2:30 pm in the chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Reeves officiating. Burial will follow in Sugarfork Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scotty Setser, Mike Gregory, Mike Erwin, Wayne Chambers, Dennis Setser and David Setser. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 2:30, prior to the service, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice in the memory of Clara.
