Clay Kevin Hughey

Cashiers NC - Clay Kevin Hughey, 57, of Cashiers went to be with the Lord, Friday, June 14, 2013 at his residence. Clay was born in Rabun County, GA, the son of the late Doyle Hughey and Irene Moffitt Hughey. He was a self employed stone and block mason. Clay was a loving father and grandfather who loved to hunt and fish and was a good basketball player. He loved all sports.

He is survived by three daughters, Hilary Hurst and husband David of Greer, SC, Heather Blythe and husband John of Little River, NC and Jessica Hughey of Pisgah Forest, NC; one son, Jonathan Hughey and wife Holly of Brevard, NC; two sisters, Brenda Moss of Cashiers, NC and Hilda Nevius of Glenville, NC; one brother, Leland Hughey of Cashiers, NC and two grandchildren, Braxton Ricker and Baylor Blythe.

Funeral services will be held Monday June 17, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Cashiers Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Patrick officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Cashiers. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at the church. Pallbearers will be Brian Stewart, Dean Watson, Tommy Bryson, Bill Hooper, Stacey Dillard, Cliff Moffitt and J.J. McCall.
