Col. Fredrick "Bo" Setser

Franklin - Ret. Lt. Col. Fredrick "Bo" Setser, age 83 of Franklin, NC passed away Friday, August 22, 2014. He was a native of Macon County, the son of the late Andrew Bryan and Estelle Justice Setser. He was preceded in death by his first wife Jimmie Ruth Whitman Setser who passed away in 2012. He was a US Army Veteran having served in the Korean War and Vietnam. He was stationed in Korea, Japan, Germany, the Dominic Republic and Vietnam twice. He retired as a Lt. Colonel in 1975 and then retired from home building. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion Post #108 and the VFW Post #7339, a member of the Military Officers, the Disabled Veterans and the Vietnam Veterans of America. He was a graduate of the University of Nebraska.

He is survived by his second wife Debbie Carpenter; three daughters, Dierdre Greer Carroll and husband, Fred of Newnan, GA, Fredricka J. Setser of Lawrenceville, GA, Kennetha A. McConnell and her husband, Bob of Woodstock, GA.; one granddaughter, Brianna McConnell; three sisters, Pat Wilson and her husband, Josh of Belton, SC, Nan Bulgin and husband, Randolph of Franklin, Carolyn McCall and husband, Bob of Franklin, NC; two sisters in law, Joyce Setser of Franklin, NC and Geneva Setser of Murphy, NC. In addition to his parents and his first wife he is preceded in death by one sister Lucille Setser Allen, three brothers, Andy Setser, John L. Setser and James Pete Setser.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at 10:00 am in the Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral home with Rev. Susan German officiating. Burial will in the St. Johns Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy Tallent, Fred Carroll, Bob McConnell and James Mullins.

The family will receive friends Monday, August 25, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Bryant Grant Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Johns Cemetery, 524 St. Johns Church Rd., Franklin, NC 28734.
