Cora Scott

Cora Tallent Scott, 86, of Sylva, NC, passed away Monday, August 31, 2026. Cora was born September 13, 1939 in Macon County, to the late Henry David Tallent and Doris Tallent. She worked forty years at the Longview Restaurant. She was of the Baptist faith. Cora loved to work and serve others, she also loved her family and took care of her cousins.

Cora is survived by four children, David Scott, James Scott, Howard Scott and Ruth Jones.; many grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, September 6, 2026, at 3:00 pm in the Grant Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home, with Rev. Ronnie Branson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow at Watauga Baptist Church Cemetery.
