Curtis Wright Mcdowell

Franklin, NC - Curtis Wright McDowell, age 81, of Franklin, NC, passed away Monday, November 4, 2013. He was born in Cook County, Illinois, the son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Strong McDowell. He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during the Korean conflict, for which he was awarded the Purple Heart, and he was night manager for Sentinel Star in Orlando, FL. He loved to read and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of thirty eight years, Verna Hartman McDowell; four daughters, Candace Parks of Round Lake Beach, IL, Lynn Jester of Christopher, IL, Tracy Cumlin of Hoffman Estates, IL, and Kathleen Barrios of Round Lake Beach, IL; a son, Michael Curtis McDowell, step daughter, Kim Browning of Taylorsville, NC and step son, Keith Browning of Longwood, FL; several grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
