Cynthia "Cindy" Jane Freeman

Franklin, NC - Cynthia "Cindy" Jane Freeman, 51, of Franklin, NC passed away Thursday, October 31, 2013, after a short illness, at Mission Hospital . Born in Winter Haven, Florida, she was the youngest daughter of Gene and Peggy Dugger. Cindy was a graduate of Winter Haven High School and went on to get an A. A. Degree in veterinary technology from St. Petersburg Jr. College. She was Master Gardener, Class of 1996, Master Gardener President from 1998 to 2004, and also the Master Gardener’s main grant writer 1998 thru 2004. She was 4-H Leader of the year in 2001.

In addition to her parents, Cynthia is survived by her husband of 24 years, Hiram Jerry Freeman of Franklin, NC; one son, Levi Freeman of Franklin, NC; two sisters, Gail Anderson of Winter Haven, FL and Pam Durrance of Thomasville, GA; one brother, Richard Dugger of Winter Haven, FL and one grandchild, Ayden Lee Quinn. Cindy was an animal lover, she is also survived by her cats, Smokey, Tweedle, Samson, Wildman, Reason, DC, Boots, He-man and Nine, and her dog Sophie.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 2:30 pm in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Macon County Chapter of the NC State Master Garden, c/o Alan Durden, 193 Thomas Heights Road, Franklin, NC 28734.
