Dale Dowdle

Franklin, NC - Dale Dowdle, 60, of Punta Gorda, FL and Franklin, NC passed sway Sunday, December 7, 2014.

Born in Swain County, he was the son of the late Howard S. and Irene Hurst Dowdle. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a loving husband, father, and to the many that called him "Daddy Dale" and "Papa".

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Eileen Cabe Dowdle; a son, Trampis Dowdle of Punta Gorda, FL and Dee Tippett of Rushburg, VA; three brothers, Billy Norton of Franklin, Howard "Hoss" Dowdle of Clayton, GA; Curtis Dowdle of Franklin; one sister, Jennie Dowdle Leopold of Corona del Mar, CA, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Liberty Baptist Church. Rev. Lewis Smith and Rev. David Williams will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
