Danny R. Mcdowell

Franklin, NC - Danny R. McDowell, age 51, of Sugarfork Rd., Franklin, NC passed away Monday, August 30, 2010 in a local hospital. A native of Macon Co., he was the son of the late John Wilbur and Ruth Tyler McDowell. He worked in restaurants as a cook and worked in the paint department of Nantahala Lumber Company. He loved gardening and fishing.

He is survived by partner Geoff Allen of Franklin, NC; four sisters Jerry Reece and husband Jack of Dawson Springs, KY, June Wike and husband Bill of Morganton, NC, Wanda Waldroop of Franklin, NC and Cathy Kari of Asheville, NC; two brothers John McDowell and Mary Margaret Bulgin and Bobby McDowell and wife Susan all of Franklin, NC. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Sugarfork Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Doug Thompson, 287 Sugarfork Rd., Franklin, NC 28734.
