Darrell Gene Reynolds passed away peacefully on November, 15th at Mission Hospital in Asheville NC. He was Born in Nassawadox, VA on April, 24th 1940.

Darrell was a long-time resident of Franklin, NC where he worked 31 years for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of NC. Prior to that, he served in the United States Coastguard at various locations and on the cutter USCGC Ingham.

Darrell was an avid baseball fan having played at Northampton High School in Eastville, VA. He also enjoyed coaching JV Girls Softball at Franklin High School and previously coached boys Senior and Junior league teams in Franklin. He was an enthusiastic fan of the Green Bay Packers, the Atlanta Braves and the Carolina Hurricanes. Having grown up on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, he was an avid fisherman, particularly enjoying surf fishing on the beaches of South Carolina.

Darrell was preceded in death by his son Troy Reynolds, father Eugene Reynolds and mother Dorothy Bell Reynolds.

Surviving him are his wife of 65 years, Connie, sons Scott and Sheldon, sister Wendy Harclerode, brother Kent Reynolds, granddaughters Lindsay Otstott, Meredith Chapman and Page Reynolds, grandsons Maxwell Reynolds,Joshua Reynolds and Quentin Reynolds and great grandchildren Laurel Otstott, Alexander Otstott, Ian Otstott and Oliver Chapman.

A family memorial will be held at a later date.
