David William Colberg

David William Colberg, 88, of Franklin, NC, passed away September 8, 2024.  He was born February 14, 1936, in Minneapolis, MN to the late Arthur John Colberg and Mae Margaret Jacobsen Colberg.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Colberg was preceded in death by his sister, Metha Cochran and his brother, Lloyd Colberg.

David spent five years in the US Air Force. Afterwards, he worked in the Apollo Space Program in Cape Canaveral, FL, and Huntsville, AL, and then in civil service in the Defense Department. He loved canoeing, hiking, model airplanes and trains, and he was a very skilled carpenter.

He is survived by his spouse, Loretta Hightower Colberg; one son, John Colberg (Shelley); one daughter, Margaret Hunt (Michael); four grandchildren, Metha, Melanie, Benjamin and Charles; a great-grandson, Theodore.
