David Allan Dowdle

Franklin, NC - David Allan Dowdle, 51, of Franklin, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2012.
Born in Franklin, he was the son of the late Hugh Dowdle, and is survived by his mother, Meritha Purifoy (and husband, David Purifoy) and step mother, Betty Dowdle. He was also preceded by his brother, Joe Dowdle. David was a member of Windy Gap Baptist Church. He loved to be at the Good Ole Boys on the weekend spending time with his friends. He also loved his dogs, Starfly and Tink.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Deborah E. Dowdle; daughter, Alesia A. Dowdle (and fiancee, Michael Chitwood); son, Seth Burrell; step daughter Tanya Bleckley (and husband, Gary Bleckley), step son, Eric W. Speed (and wife, Kimberly Speed); two step granddaughters, Brooke Henderson (and husband Chris Henderson) and Rayna Bleckley; brother, Tony Dowdle (and wife, Virgie Dowdle); step sisters, Kristin Purifoy, Susan Purifoy, Mary Bryant; step brother, Daniel Purifoy; step sister, Lynette Lee, and several nieces.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 19th at Windy Gap Baptist Church. Pastor Mark Bishop will officiate. Burial will be in Clarks Chapel Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 18th, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Bryant Grant Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Chastain, Keith "Shag" Mason, Ricky Norris, Patrick Rathbone, Gary Vanhook and Ted Sprinkles. Honorary pallbearers are the Good Ole Boys.
