Delores Mason

Mrs. Delores Cabe Mason, 77, went home to be with the Lord Friday, January 16, 2026.

Delores was born October 19, 1948, in Macon County, NC to the late Harvey Cabe and Bonnie Shepard Cabe.

Delores was a member of the Cowee Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 40 years and was on the kitchen committee.

Delores loved the beach, word search puzzles, gospel music, flowers, loved to bake goodies at Christmas and listening to the bagpipes. She had a great love for her family especially her grandchildren. Delores was a babysitter for a lot of children through the years.

Survivors include her husband, Eddie Mason of 56 years; two daughters, Cindy Mason, and Jamie Mason Kelly (Sam); three grandchildren, Brittany Leigh Croston, Taylor Marie Carson (James), and Cameron Croston; a brother, John Cabe (Joann); sister-in-law, Julia Mason; mother-in-law, Anna Mason; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Delores was preceded in death by two sisters, Wenona Cabe Curtis and Lorretta Cabe McDonald; a brother, Tommy Cabe; and a niece, Lisa Stepp.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Cowee Baptist Church with the Rev. Jason Smith and Rev. Ronnie Branson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Wednesday evening January 21, 2026, in the Grant Chapel at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Sam Kelly, Cameron Croston, David Croston, Michael McDonald, Bryan Hooper, James Carson, and Jerry Rogers.
