Donald N. Mcbride

Topton - Donald N. McBride, age 80, of Topton, NC passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at the Valley View Care Center in Andrews, NC.

Donald was a native of Sharon, PA and lived in Bradenton, FL before moving to the Nantahala Community 26 years ago. He was the son of the late Myrtle Estell Van Horn and William Glenn McBride and stepmother Norma Faye Brunson McBride. Donald was a retired School Principal. He was a First Lieutenant in the US Army and was of the Lutheran faith.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Claire Wiggins.Donald is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Singer McBride; one son, Donald Mark McBride; three daughters, Mary Beth McBride, Maxine McBride and Margaret DeLuna; two sisters, Barbara Youngen and Diane Arkwright and five grandchildren: Jonathan Baker, Benjamin Wiggins, Elizabeth McBride, Megan McBride, and Taylor Livingston.

A Memorial Service will be held in Sharon, PA at a later date.
