Donovan James Lee Bishop

Donovan James Lee Bishop, 23, completed his journey here on earth on January 16, 2026.

Donovan was born March 20, 2002 in Macon County, NC to Brandy Bryggare and Chris Bishop. A volunteer firefighter at the Cullasaja Fire Department, he loved loud music of every genre. He also enjoyed playing video games, traveling, exploring, Alabama Crimson Tide football, working on cars, and spending time with his family. Donovan absolutely loved his daughter and his mother. He was always trying to help those in need.

Survivors include his mother, Brandy Bryggare; his stepfather, Mikeal Bryggare; his father, Chris Bishop; a daughter, Harper Mae Bishop; his fiancé, Caitlyn Sandefur; a sister, Rayvon Bishop; a brother, Mikeal Bryggare; his grandparents, Donnie and Faye Hunter; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Donovan was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Henry & Roberta Passmore; and James & Hazel Shirley.  

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, January 23, 2026 at 7:00 PM in the Grant Chapel with Rev. Randy Drinnon officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
