Doris Evelyn Hodgins

Doris Evelyn Sanders Hodgins, 81, of Franklin, NC, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022.  She was born August 8, 1940 in Macon County, NC, the daughter of the late Ernest and Bertha Watts Sanders.  Mrs. Hodgins was a hard worker, she had worked at Belden, and as a nurse and caregiver for several nursing homes.  She liked to work in her yard and help raise children.  She was a Baptist by faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ann Dickerson; a brother, Clifton Sanders; and a grandchild.

She is survived by a daughter, Carol Elizabeth Hughes of Franklin, NC, a son, Kelly James Hodgins of Clayton, GA; a sister, Margaret Cagle of Homer, GA; brothers, Gordon Sanders of Otto, NC and Calvin Sanders of Demorest, GA; four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

No services are planned at this time.
