Dorothy Marie Wilkes

Franklin, NC - Dorothy Marie Wilkes, age 64, of Franklin, NC, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011 in a Sylva hospital. She was a native of Macon County, the daughter of the late James Silas Green and Eula Shepherd Green. She had worked at Whitley Products for twenty-five years, and also had worked at Grandview Manor and restaurants. She was a wonderful wife and mother, her family was very precious to her. She was a very kind and loving lady and always wanted to help others. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Olive Hill Gospel Chapel.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Ellis Wilkes; two sons, Wesley Wilkes and wife Vickie and Mitchell Wilkes and wife Nina all of Franklin, NC; one sister, Florence Bulla of Lexington, NC; one brother, Jim Green and wife Janie of Franklin, NC; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 25th at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home, with Rev. Barry Bowman officiating. Burial will be in Wilkes Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ben Messer, Donald Messer, John Price, Danny McClain, Bobby Ledford, Junior Burch, Steve Green, Mike Green, Fred Dills and Rick Dills.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 till 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service Tuesday at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Olive Hill Gospel Chapel Church, 2382 Olive Hill Road, Franklin, NC 28734.
