Douglas Harold Moss

Mr. Douglas H. Moss, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019 surrounded by his family.

Mr. Moss was born April 23, 1944 in Towns County, Georgia to the late Dillard K. Moss and Opal Ledford Moss. Mr. Moss was of the Baptist faith and a member of Bell Scene Baptist Church.  Doug was an avid fan of NASCAR racing.

Survivors include his three daughters, Jeanne’ Padgett (Jeff) of Hayesville, NC, Kimberly Moss of Hayesville, NC, and Amanda Rogers (Jeff) of Hiawassee, Ga. Sister, Carolyn Holbrooks of Blairsville, Ga. and  brothers, Alton Moss of Hiawassee, Ga,  Larry Moss of Hiawassee, Ga,  and Roger Moss of Hayesville, NC. Grandchildren, Drake Long of Raleigh, NC, Peyton Long of Hayesville, NC, Lizzie Davies of Hayesville, NC, Gage Rogers of Hiawassee, Ga and Reagan Rogers of Hiawassee, Ga.  A number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Moss was preceded in death by his sisters Tootsie Hogsed and Ruth Taylor and brothers, Fred Moss and Max Moss.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, January 27, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in the Bell Scene Baptist Church in Hiawassee, Ga. with the Rev. Ricky Rogers officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at the Bell Scene Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Bell Scene Baptist Church Cemetery Fund in care of Junior Bradshaw, 1482 Eagle Mountain Rd. Hiawassee, GA 30546.
