Doyle Gordon Gibson

Franklin, NC - Doyle Gordon Gibson, age 73, of Franklin, NC passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012. Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Luther and Minnie Angel Gibson. He was married first to Nancy Crawford Gibson who died in 2003; then to Joyce Dobias Gibson for seven years. He was a telephone cable splicer; he loved music and played the steel guitar; he loved to garden, raising tomatoes and watermelons; he liked his truck and loved his dogs, Heidi and Brandy. He attended Mashburn Branch Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, Joyce, he is survived by one sister, Nell Cabe and husband Robert of Franklin, NC and one niece, Shirlene Spradlin and husband Melvin of Franklin, NC.

Funeral services will be held, Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Davis Hooper officiating. Burial will be in Rush Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Pruett, Joe Robinson, Pritchard Chastain, Melvin Spradlin, Jody Spradlin and Teddy Burnett. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
