Earl Wendall Hanvey, age 79, of Franklin, NC, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016.  He was born in Seneca, SC, the son of the late David and Gaynelle Alexander Hanvey.  Mr. Hanvey was retired from the US Air Force after 22 years of service and had worked as a Police Officer for 9 years.  He was also a carpenter, and avid music lover, and a member of First United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Monika Hanvey, sons, Earl Wendall Hanvey, Jr. (Karen) of Anderson, SC, Van Dean Hanvey (Kim) of Wahalla, SC, Daniel Adam Hanvey (Betty) of Westminster, SC and Robert Lee Hanvey (Libby) of Westminster, SC; a sister, Nelle McCallister of Seneca, SC; brothers, David Hanvey of Greenville, SC, Larry Hanvey of Seattle, WA and Winston Hanvey of Powdersville, SC; eight grandchildren and several great‑grandchildren; special friends, Bob and Mary Williams and Ed and Carol Mallory.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church, with Rev. David Beam and Mr. Bob Williams officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 till 2:00 pm, prior to the service at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 66 Harrison Ave., Franklin, NC  28734.
