Hayesville, NC - Earle Davis Seaverns, Jr. age 87, of Hayesville, NC passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014 at a Gainesville, GA Hospital. He was born in Laconia, NH, the son of Earle Davis and Bernice Moore Seaverns. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sally, and his second wife Helen Jean Ray Seaverns who passed away in March 2014. He was a US WWII Army Veteran. He was an agent for Prudential Life Insurance Company for 30 years and was a member of The Episcopal Church of The Good Shepherd in Hayesville. Earle was a Mason for 63 years, a Rotary Club Member for 64 years, where he served as a past president of the Eau Gallie Florida Club and was a Rotary Club Charter Member of The Lake Chatuge/Hiawassee Club. He was a Church organist in Melbourne, FL and Church of The Good Shepherd in Hayesville, NC. He was involved in all offices of church, was involved with Cursillo in the Episcopal Church, lay reader and chalicist for many years. He was in the first class of Stephen Ministers at The Good Shepherd Church. Before retiring to Hayesville in 1986, he had lived for 27 years in Indian Harbour Beach, Fl.
He is survived by three children, a daughter, Sara McInnes (George), granddaughter, Sally, great granddaughters, Kaela and Abagael; a son, Earle Davis Seaverns III(Theresa), grandchildren, Sean, Victoria and Kimberly, great grandsons, Wyatt and Avery; a daughter, Anne Brown (Tim); grandchildren, Julie and Jay. He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Grant Seaverns who is survived by his son, Christopher and his granddaughter, Jordyn.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 31 at 2:00 PM at The Episcopal Church of The Good Shepherd with Rev. Father Bill Breedlove officiating. A reception will follow the service.
