Eddie Gray Whitus, age 75, of Franklin, passed away January 30, 2017 in Angel Medical Center after an extended illness. A native of Devonia, Tennessee, he was born March 17, 1941 and was the son of the late Thomas Whitus and Joyce West Whitus Hensley.
Mr. Whitus was of the Baptist faith; he served in the National Guard, and he retired from OTASCO as a salesman working in several states. His hobbies included fishing, woodworking and riding motorcycles.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judie Parrish Whitus; son David Whitus and wife Tracy of Ellenwood, Georgia, and daughter Lisa Whitus of Franklin, and grandchildren, Misty, Christopher, Michael and Billy. He is also survived by a sister, Barbara Whitus Hoskins (Bobby) of Nashville, Tennessee; brother, Dana Hensley(Azalee); sisters Rita Hensley Ogle(Scott) and Sandra Hensley Madewell,(Roger) all of Oliver Springs, Tennessee. He was predeceased by a son, Darrell Whitus.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 5, 2017 in Oliver Springs, Tennessee. Interment will be in the Anderson County Memorial Cemetery. Premier Sharp Funeral Home is assisting the family.
