Edna Mae Bates

Franklin, NC - Edna Mae Bates 84, of Franklin, NC died Saturday July 26, 2008 in a Sylva, NC Care Center. She was a native of Macon County, NC, the daughter of the late Fred and Leona Stamey Sanders. She was married to the late James Bates who died in 1993. She was a homemaker, and was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by five daughters, Patsy Coburn and husband James of Otto, NC, Sally Ledford and husband Charles, of Otto, NC, Linda Llianas and husband Jerry of Franklin, NC, Brenda Melton of Franklin, NC, and Judy Dodgins and companion Mike Kimbrough of Franklin, NC; two sons Jerry (Bubbie) Bates and wife Rachel of Otto, and Ronnie (Hoss) Bates and wife Sarah of Franklin, NC; one sister Lucille McGaha of Franklin, NC, one brother Fred Sanders both of Franklin, NC, fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters Hattie Woodall, and Beatrice Bates, two sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday July 29, 2008 at 2:30 PM in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with the Revs. Don Moffitt and Robert Dryman officiating. Burial will be in the Black Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Ledford, James Coburn, Michael Melton, Danny Tallent, Tommy Stockton and Timothy Sanders. The family will receive friends from 6:00 till 8:00pm, Monday July 28, 2008 at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home in Franklin, NC.
