Edward J. Taylor

Edward J. Taylor, 84, of Otto, NC, passed away Monday, September 19, 2022.  Edward was born May 31, 1938, in Rabun County, Georgia to the late Jim and Cleo McConnell Taylor.  He had worked as a supervisor for a Rock Quarry and was a member of Newman Chapel Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jeanette Taylor of the home; son, Michael Taylor (Mary) of Raleigh, NC; granddaughter, Evan Taylor of Raleigh, NC; sisters, Barbara Woodall, and Beatrice Welch both of Rabun Gap, Georgia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ellis Taylor and Ernest Taylor and a sister, Betty English.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, September 22, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Newman Chapel Baptist Church, with Rev. Dennis Ledford officiating.  Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Ricky Taylor, Jason Rogers, Josh Estes, Carl Blackburn, Kyle Brown, and C. J. Rogers.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
