Elizabeth "Betty" Ray Richardson

Franklin, NC - Elizabeth "Betty" Ray Richardson, age 84, of Franklin, NC passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2012. Born in Mecklenburg County, she was the daughter of the late James Bryan and Bessie Myers Ray. She was an office clerk for Allstate Insurance. She attended Mt. Harmony Baptist Church.

Mrs. Richardson is survived by two sons, Steven D. Richardson and wife Peggy of St. Louis, MO and David W. Richardson and wife Karen of Gastonia, NC; one sister, Helen Ray of Franklin, NC, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 31, 2012 from 1:00 until 3:00 pm at Bryant Grant Funeral Home. Private graveside services will be held later. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to UNCC Botanical Gardens, c/o Sharon Green, 9201 University City Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28223.
