Franklin, NC - Ellen Marie Landing, 60, of Franklin, NC passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2104. Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Lon and Rachel Ammons Cook. She was a loving mother and grandmother; she loved her dogs, bird watching and gardening. She attended Newman Chapel Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Sanders and husband Dewey of Franklin and Tina Landing of Deland, FL; one son, Matthew Landing and wife Emily of Columbia, SC; four sisters, Violet Pannell of Franklin, Jessie Sprinkle and husband Ray of Cleveland, TN, Betty Dodgins and husband Raymond of Mt. Airy, GA and Sharon Cook of Franklin; five brothers, John Cook and wife Sue of Franklin, James Cook of Westminster, SC, Eugene Cook and wife Thelma of Mountain City, TN, Richard Cook of Franklin and Otis Cook of Franklin and two grandchildren, Matthew Landing and Rhiannon Sanders.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Pearl Cook.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 11:00 am at Newman Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Cannon officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
