Ellen Armstrong Tallent

Franklin, NC - Ellen Armstrong Tallent, age 69, of Franklin, NC, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012. She was born in Black Oak, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Marvin and Lorene Waites Armstrong. She had worked at Walmart for 29 years, most recently as a department manager in Clayton, GA, and had worked at Burlington for 24 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She coached and played softball for 40 years, she loved spending time at the lake and dirt track racing, and attended Franklin Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Joe "Mule" Tallent, two daughters, Joanne Tallent of Clarkesville, GA and Karen Tallent of Franklin, NC; one son, Ricky "Ribs" Tallent of Franklin, NC; one sister, Myrna Kisner and her husband John of Black Oak, Arkansas; one brother, William "Dub" Armstorng and wife Polly, of Black Oak, Arkansas; grandchildren, Jonathon Owens, Heather Gragg, Ashley Nix Miller and husband Ronnie, Gabriella Tallent and Samuel Tallent; one great granddaughter, Kaydence; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, July 15th at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home, with Rev. Don Moffitt officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 till 4:00 pm, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
