Ellie Louise Wilson Nix

Highlands, NC- Ellie Louise Wilson Nix, age 85, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2011 at her residence. Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Mack and Lona Chastain Wilson. She was married to L.C. Nix for 65 years. She was a secretary and a member of Highlands United Methodist Church. She was a fabulous cook, a loving wife, sister, and aunt.

In addition to her husband she is survived by one sister, Dolly McCall and her husband, Frank of Highlands, NC and three brothers, Albert Wilson of Espanola, NM and Thomas and Walter Wilson and his wife, Lucille of Highlands, NC.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Joe Wilson, Curt Wilson, Eugene Wilson and Lyman Wilson and a sister, Velma Mason...

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 8 at 2:00 p.m. at Highlands United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Christy officiating. Burial will be at Highlands Memorial Park. Boyd McCall, Morris Nix, Roger Wilson, Dennis Ivester, Craig McCall and Ralph Reed will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 8 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Highlands United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Highlands United Methodist Church, 315 Main Street, Highlands, NC or to Four Seasons Hospice Care, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, and NC 28731.
