In Loving Memory of Margaret Eloise Hurst

Eloise Hurst, age 85, passed away on June 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Eloise lived a life defined by hard work, devotion, sacrifice, and unconditional love for those she held dear.

For more than 40 years, Eloise worked as a waitress at B & D Restaurant, where she became a familiar face and friend to countless customers and coworkers. Her strong work ethic, kind heart, and warm smile left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Above all else, Eloise loved her family. Her son, James Fred Hurst, was the center of her world, and she devoted her life to caring for and supporting her family in every way she could. When her grandson, Rickie Lee Hurst, was just 3 years old and her granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Hurst, was only 1 year old, Eloise stepped in and helped raise them, providing them with a loving home, guidance, support, and the unconditional love that only a grandmother can give. To them, she was far more than a grandmother—she was a parent, protector, and constant source of strength.

Eloise will be remembered for her selflessness, strength, generosity, and the countless sacrifices she made for the people she loved. She was the kind of person who would always offer a helping hand, a kind word, and unwavering support to those around her. She dedicated her life to her family and always put their needs before her own.

She is survived by her son, James Fred Hurst; her grandson, Rickie Lee Hurst; her granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Hurst; along with many other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we take comfort in the love, lessons, and memories Eloise leaves behind. Her legacy will live on through the family she loved so deeply and the many lives she touched throughout her 85 years.

The family asks that Eloise be remembered not for the way she left this world, but for the way she lived in it—with kindness, compassion, dedication, and a love for family that knew no bounds.

Forever loved, forever missed, and forever remembered.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Eugene Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 PM prior to the service at the church.
