Elsie Caroline Sondheimer Deal

Franklin, NC - Elsie Caroline Sondheimer Deal, age 81, of Franklin, NC, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014 at her residence. She was born in New York City, NY, the daughter of the late Charlie Sondheimer and Ethel Keener Sondheimer. She was married to Robert Lewis Deal, who passed away October 27, 2001. She was a homemaker and a farmer. She was the former co owner of Deal Farms and had a produce stand on the Highlands Road for 55 years. She was the longest continuous member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday School Teacher.

She is survived by a daughter, Karen Raby of Franklin, NC; a son, Charles Logan "Butch" Deal and his wife Pat of Franklin, NC; a sister, Evelyn Bryson of Franklin, NC; a foster brother, George Robert Henning of Las Vegas, NV; five grandsons, Casey Jennings (Stephanie), Joe Deal(Devon), Bill Deal (Jenny), Kyle Jennings (Maggie), and Jimmy Deal (Katie); eight great grandchildren, Braxton, Caroline, Addie, Kenleigh, William, Logan, Jeremiah, and Glenn.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 8, 2014 at Pine Grove Baptist Church at 3:00 pm, with Rev. Greg Rogers, Rev. Roy Lowe, Rev. Mike Chastain and Rev. Alton Dendy officiating. Burial will be at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Harold Huscusson, Scottie Thomas, Keith McCall, Wayne Price, Landy Holland and Lyman Holland. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Thun, Tony Munger, Brenda Munger, Richmond Crisp, and Vickie Thomas; caregivers, Sharon Gleman, Dot Holland, Nancy Dills and Phyllis Wilson.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pinegrove Baptist Church, 7454 Highlands Road, Franklin, NC for Appalachian Coal Field Ministry.
