Emma Lee Cope

Topton, NC - Emma Lee Cope, age 77, of Topton, NC, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2014. She was born in Macon County, the daughter of Louella Rowland Evans of Nantahala, NC and the late Albert Evans. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and a member of Aquone Baptist Church. She had worked for Lee Company as a sewing machine operator.

In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband of 60 years, R. L. Cope, a son, David Scott Cope and his wife Barbara of Nantahala, NC, a sister, Carolyn Dunn of Chattanooga, TN, two brothers, Clifford Evans of Nantahala, NC and Kim Evans of Marble, NC; three grandchildren also survive.

In addition to her father she was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Dawn Cope, a son, Ronnie Lee Cope, a sister, Linda Shields and a brother, Henry Evans.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 19th at 5:00 pm at White Oak Flats Baptist Church, with Rev. S. J. Waters and Rev. Darren Self officiating. Burial will be in Aquone Baptist Church Cemetery. Members of Nantahala Fire Department will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 till 5:00 pm, one hour prior to the service at the Church.
