Ernestine "Teen" (Zachary) Reed

Ernestine Zachary (Teen) Reed, 89, of Highlands, N. C. passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at the Eckard Living Center.  Born in Macon County, N. C. on September 3, 1929.  Teen was the daughter of the late Lyman and Dora Zachary.  She was preceded in death by her husband Eldon Reed; her brothers Claude Zachary, Carl (Bub) Zachary, Lloyd Zachary, James Zachary and her sisters Rena James, Bernice Hedden, and Mattie Crawford.

She is survived by her daughter Jewell Crowley (Dewayne) of Patrick, South Carolina; son Morris Reed (Cindy) of Highlands, N.C.; three grandchildren Crystal Mangum (Clifton), Michael Crowley, Jackie Petrone (Vince); three great- grandchildren , Caston, Nathan, and Zoey; and three sisters, Mildred Wilson, Lillian (Lil) Waller, and Lucille Potts.

Teen will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.  She touched the hearts of many and was a true blessing to all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, June 23, 2019 at 3:00 pm in the sanctuary of the Shortoff Baptist Church with the Rev. Delbert McCall and the Rev. Ralph Campbell officiating.  Burial will follow at the Highlands Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm prior to the service.  Pallbearers will be Dennis Wilson, Ronnie Waller, Jody Zachary, Don Fisher, Olan Vinson and Steve Pierson.
